to enhancing cooperative approaches to the management or resolution of
conflicts and disputes, through national and international collaboration.
We offer a range of services including the Australian Dispute Resolution Directory, a database of organisations including mediators, conciliators, facilitators, arbitrators, educators, trainers and a wide range of service providers. If your organisation is not yet registered, we encourage you to do so on the Website Directory page. We are currently expanding this site to become the Asia-Pacific Mediation E-Centre. See our Past Events page for earlier events. 5th Asia-Pacific Mediation Forum conference, India, 20–27 November 2010 The Fifth Asia Pacific Mediation Forum (APMF) conference will be held in India at the Brahma Kumaris Conference Centre, at Gurgaon (near Delhi). Firdosh Kassam is the Conference Convener and will be assisted by a Conference Committee in India and the APMF Executive and Steering committees. The Brahma Kumaris, Indian Law Ministry and the Judiciary will support the conference and participate in the program. Please put these dates in your diary and start planning to present a paper and/or workshop. Information about costs and the call for papers will be on the APMF website in early 2009. The Second Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum: 'Conflict Prevention in the Multimedia Age', Bonn, Germany, 3–5 June 2009 The second Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum will highlight the rapid development of technology in the world of media and debate the ensuing questions related to modified usage. In light of these changes, the conference will examine the future of content delivery, especially for topics pertaining to peace and security. The forum will bring together media users and producers, peace building and conflict prevention specialists, representatives from the fields of media technology and security, public relations, the military, the arms industry as well as members of government and political parties to network and discuss the challenges and solutions for the future. Australian family law and the impact on children The seminar examined in depth the consequences for children of some of the recent changes to the Australian Family Law Act. Presenters focused on the most current theories, research, practice wisdom and parental experiences in relation to the emphasis given to shared parenting and associated decision making after separation and divorce. The main focus was on the outcomes of the changes for Australian children, including those children who have been, or are at risk of being, exposed to high-level parental conflict, violence and child abuse.
