Mediation Training Tapes

Mediation Training Tapes

Dr JOHN HAYNES IN AUSTRALIA

These tapes will be of interest to all mediators, trainers, educators and students.

Introduction: Dale Bagshaw (Producer)

In 1996, Dr. Haynes agreed to make this set of Mediation Training Tapes for teaching purposes for the University of South Australia. These tapes allow you to see him - an internationally renowned master - at work in the latter years of his life. It was inspiring to work with such a highly professional and respectful mediator and trainer. The tapes have been invaluable in my own teaching in our undergraduate and post-graduate mediation and conflict management courses. They demonstrate a wide range of skills and techniques and provide rich opportunities for critical analysis and learning.

Dr. John Haynes (1932-1999)

John M. Haynes PhD is known throughout the world for his contributions to mediation and conflict management. He is often described as the father of modern mediation. He is the author of 12 books and numerous articles. Fundamentals of Family Mediation, State University of New York Press, 1994, has been translated in five languages with eight different national editions. Dr. Haynes was Founding President of the US Academy of Family Mediators (1981 - 1985) and the first recipient of its Distinguished Contribution Award in 1989. He has trained over 20,000 professionals in more than twenty countries and implemented mediation training programs within international court systems throughout the world. As a mediator in private practice Dr. Haynes mediated more than 5000 interpersonal disputes, including those involving divorce, business dissolution and intra-corporate differences.

Any profits from the sale of tapes will be put into a John Haynes Memorial Fund to support conflict management research at the University of South Australia.
